Reissued under a slightly different title from the original edition of this famous work illustrated with 70 copper-engraved and finely hand-colored hors-texte plates depicting French noblewomen from the 12th to 18th centuries, the last 16 of which had not been published at the time of the author's death. Each plate is accompanied by one page of text. Collation conforms to that given by Vicaire IV, 1362.
A fine copy, with some minor wear or old restorations, and some foxing.
