Performed at Saint-Cyr the same year, it was not given in Paris until February 26, 1714, with choruses set to music by Jean-Baptiste Moreau, already author of Esther and Athalie. The work, dedicated to Louis XIV, was reprinted several times, notably in 1713 and again in Utrecht in 1735.
