Volume 2 of the French version includes an important chapter on the languages of the Caucasus; the cantons inhabited by each people are described, and vocabularies with their particularities (Lesghi, Mitzdjeghi, Cherkessian, Abaze, Ossetian, Georgian, Laze & Turkic languages) are appended to these entries.
