DENIS (Maurice). Charms and Lessons of Italy. With 32 plates - Lot 324
DENIS (Maurice). Charms and Lessons of Italy. With 32 plates hors texte. Paris, Armand Colin, 1933. In-8 bradel ivory half-percaline, title in green, small gilt fleuron (elephant), covers preserved.
32 plates of reproductions of Italian works of art, in b&w.
A very good copy with a fine ORIGINAL AQUARELLE signed by Maurice Denis on the false title (Saint Louis, 1937, dim. drawing with signature 11 x 13 cm) and a L.A.S. from the latter dated May 28 (no year) 1 p. in-12 addressed to L. Méry: he cannot accede to the request of the latter's friends as the drawing they wanted has already been sold by M. Helleu, but his friends may find another piece to their liking at the exhibition or in his studio.
